Before getting into the three laws themselves, here is a little bit about Isaac Newton's life.

Early Life
Sir Isaac Newton was an English physicist and mathematician who is widely regarded as one of the most influential scientists of all time and as a key figure in the scientific revolution. Newton was born in England on on December 25,1643 (the same year Galileo died). He was raised by his grandmother, from birth until college.
Education
Newton attended Free Grammar School and then went on to Trinity College Cambridge. He worked his way through college. While at college Newton became more interested in math, physics, and astronomy. He received both a bachelors and masters degree before leaving college.
Falling Apple
It is said that at the age of 23, Sir Isaac Newton became interested in the effects of gravity after watching an apple fall on his head. He wondered why the apple fell and what affected the force with which it hit his head.
Isaac Newton died on March 20, 1727 (aged 84) in Great Britain.
